Job Description

SALES MANAGER


Our client is looking to enhance its team by recruiting for the position of Sales Manager.


They are expecting the Sales Manager to lead, motivate and develop the sales team whilst also having a financial target to achieve.


Are  you a people manager with a solid understanding within at least one of our clients service areas?


The role will report into the General Manager and will have line management responsibility for the South Sales Team and will also be responsible for building access to major tenders and contract opportunities. 


The ability to build relationships is key to this role as you will be working closely with colleagues such as the Bid Manager to ensure any bids are secured. 


Responsibilities

  • To achieve a personal sales target
  • Support, mentor and develop the sales team in order to achieve their targets
  • Support new and existing staff with quote preparation and sign off
  • Review implementation of the sector approach for the commercial team, monitor impact and areas for improvement, including sector performance
  • Complete appraisals
  • Conduct final interviews for the sales team with the help of the internal recruitment team
  • Attend operations meetings each week and discuss won and high confidence work
  • Understand why a sales opportunity has been unsuccessful, provide feedback actions and areas for improvement to the sales team 

 

Skill Set

  • A proven track record within sales, specifically bringing in new business
  • Demonstration of strong commercial awareness and negotiation.
  • The creation of strong commercial proposals.
  • Have a will to want to develop and support staff – success will be measured on the achievement of the whole team.
  • You will need to be a good communicator, be proactive, be able to negotiate, have empathy and resilience.
  • Previous management experience of people is desirable.
  • Previous experience within the asbestos industry would be desirable.
