Job Description

Health and Safety Asbestos site auditor 

Salary 25k -30k pa dependant on experience + Vehicle

The successful candidate will be involved in monitoring the Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality performance of a well established and thriving licenced Asbestos removal, remediation and surveying company operating nationally undertaking audits to approximately 15 sites a week.

This role is part of the Health, Safety and Compliance team based out of our head office in oSunbury on Thames with a majority of the working time spent away from the office undertaking site audits across the country as we have reginal offices in Basildon, Milton Keynes and Taunton, so some travel and occasional working away from home, as well as attendance to site out of hours and over weekends contract depending will be required.

This role would suit someone who is pragmatic, confident, and capable of managing their own diary and time effectively.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

• Perform or review Risk/COSHH Assessments
• Develop, review and communicate control measures with existing workforce
• Perform administrative duties to ensure all necessary documentation up to date
• Visit different sites and conduct audits in regards to H&S, environmental and legislative compliance, making sure all statutory checks are undertaken and records are kept up to date
• Investigating accidents/incidents and dealing with preventative reports
• Dealing with occupational health requirements - statutory requirements and following illness / accident
• Manage all non-conformances, identify root cause and communicate findings, and implement remedial actions to employees in different ways including toolbox talks, site initiatives, and behavioural programs
• Participate in sites H&S meetings, lead and support sites teams
• Promote and encourage organisational safety culture
• Assist in implementing new H&S or Environmental legislation
• Assist in keeping H&S statistical data and assess KPIs to monitor company H&S progress
• Deal with 3d party auditors, inspectors and various government bodies
• Monitor H&S compliance of 3d parties like customers, sub-contractors, suppliers and visitors

• Computer literacy essential as reporting using various Microsoft software packages

• Hold full UK driving licence

Applications from interested candidates who have experience either as an asbestos supervisor/operative or analyst and are looking for a change of direction or a new challenge and this role is an ideal start into a career in Health and Safety, it is essential that all candidates must have an excellent understanding of the legislative and technical aspects of all asbestos works. Formal Asbestos or Health & Safety or Environmental qualifications IOSH / BOHS or NEBOHS are an advantage although the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress their training particularly with regard to risk assessment and health, safety and environmental management.
